Whale Strandings

There have been two major strandings in the last month, one at Karikari, and another at Spirits Bay. There were success stories, and tragedies. Both were defining moments for all those involved. Richie Robinson has some powerful images here.

We have done Helicopter training, seen orca, dolphins, hammerheads, sunfish, we had a Beach Clean Up, outstanding winter diving, a turtle hanging out in September, southern right whale and calf, sharks and seals, a couple of fresh videos here, and our usual suspects.

The weather pattern is promising a great summer for diving this year, Expect to see some of these, and these, and even these, at the Poor Knights Islands Marine Reserve. Last year we saw all of the above, and way more!

The Auckland to Russell yacht race Coastal Classic is on this weekend, and we have printed off our own money in the Republic of Tutukaka, Toots Loot. Jagermsiester bus, band, and Smugglers Rum party at Schnappa Rock.

Price Increase

After more than four years of holding our prices, we will be increasing them from the first of December 2010. Diver Discount Cards still remain the same deal, Gear hire will remain unchanged, and so will the wreck trip prices.

Waikato Anchor Raising

Thursday the 25th of November is the unveiling of the anchor from the Waikato, rasied from the seabed after ten years at the bottom. Join us for fireworks and fun at Schnappa Rock. Email Kate for more info.
